He rates how likely it is to be real on a 1-to-10 scale and lands on a 3, figuring most sightings are misidentified bears or animals, plus a lot of hoaxes. But he floats a theory that's actually fun to chew on, that at some point there may have been something Bigfoot-like, a version of a human, that existed in small numbers and eventually went extinct, which is where the legend came from.
